OVERCOMING IMPOSTER SYNDROME
You are a high-achiever, you work hard and perform well but you fear that one day people will discover that you wing it, that you are a fraud. Sound familiar? If so, you may suffer from imposter syndrome. Lisa Orbé-Austin, a psychologist and executive coach, says the phenomenon is widespread. Someone who suffers from the syndrome hears an internal voice that leads them to doubt their ability. In this session, Ms Orbé-Austin, whose practice is based in New York, presented the characteristics of the syndrome, its effects and how to deal with them. This report is a summary of the key take-outs from the event.
